Getting into the Lyriq in the showroom was nice. It’s like the Optiq, but bigger. Most space side to side, more space in front of the console, and it’s longer. Not crazy, but it feels like a spacious interior.
When we drove it, it was smooth. Quieter than the Optiq and a better ride. I think the longer wheelbase made this a better choice for us. It’s about USD$10k more than the Optiq, but we think it’s worth it for us. The extra space is great.
Most of the interior is about the same, just larger. Lots of buttons, which used to turn me off, but I found that most of the time I don’t care about them. I won’t try to use many of them. There will be a few I use and that’s it.
I wish the Tesla had more buttons, or at least configurable ones. The Lyriq has too many, but it’s not crazy for a tech guy.
At the end of the test drive, we were thinking this was our top choice.
